Mago Hunt Recital Hall, Portland, OR

An exploration of the perceptions & experiences of historical women. This production features the West Coast premieres of two operas: Marie Curie Learns to Swim by Jessica Rudman & Kendra Preston Leonard and Alice Tierney by Melissa Dunphy & Jacqueline Goldfinger, used by arrangement with Mormolyke Press. 
Thursday, August 28 | All Classical Radio Thursdays @ Three
New Wave Opera performs previews of our fall show, Atoms & Artifacts, on All Classical Radio's Thursdays @ Three for a live audience. The music features excerpts of Marie Curie Learns to Swim by Jessica Rudman & Kendra Preston Leonard and Alice Tierney by Melissa Dunphy & Jacqueline Goldfinger (used by arrangement with Mormolyke Press). Stage Director Jeffrey Puukka and Music Director Dr. Stephen Lewis share their artistic vision for the show.

January 18-19, 2025 | Wags & Whiskers
New Wave Opera is proud to present a winter double-bill of two family-friendly operas, supported generously by RACC: Pepito (Nicolás Lell Benavides & Marella Martin Koch) and Meow and Forever (Jodi Goble & Basil Considine). A portion of ticket sales will be donated to the Oregon Humane Society! Performed at the Mago Hunt Recital Hall at the University of Portland.
January 11, 2025 | O-PAW-RA Night @ Mendelssohns!
New Wave Opera returned to classical music hotspot, Mendelssohns, for an evening of animal-inspired operatic music and beyond on their iconic high-rise stage - featuring performers Lisa Neher, Lindsey Rae Johnson, Henriet Fourie-Thompson, and pianist Susan McDaniel.
