Kari Courtney is a Portland-based lyric soprano who is thrilled to be collaborating with Spicy Opera and New Wave’s Workshop of Kitchen/Wedding/Murder. She has appeared with Ping & Woof Opera in Amahl and the Night Visitors, Le nozze di Figaro, La bohème, and Così fan tutte, and will perform in Don Giovanni this August.
Recent engagements include musical theater performances with The Muses Project and Water Music Festival, as well as appearances with Opera Bend as Donna Anna (Don Giovanni), Mimì (La bohème), Rosalinda (Die Fledermaus), and Micaela (Carmen). Additional highlights include the Countess in Le nozze di Figaro, The Water in The Little Prince, and the world-premiere role of Sandra in Tango of the White Gardenia. An active concert soloist, Kari has appeared in Messiah, Mozart’s Requiem, and Saint-Saëns’s Christmas Oratorio. She also sings with Portland Opera and maintains a private voice and piano studio.
