Phoebe Gildea (they/she) is a versatile performer in opera, theatre, and concert. They have been called “radiant on state” with a “rich, beautiful voice” (Oregon ArtsWatch), and praised for giving “gritty, intense performances” (BroadwayWorld). Favorite credits include Phoebe Meryll (The Yeomen of the Guard), Alice (Lizzie: The Musical), Iolanthe (Iolanthe), Emma (Jekyll & Hyde), Tessa (The Gondoliers), Lady Macbeth (Macbeth), Zweite Dame (Die Zauberflöte), and Alto Soloist in Bach’s Magnificat. They have appeared with Portland Opera, Astoria Music Festival, Clackamas Repertory Theatre, Light Opera of Portland, Stumptown Stages, and Bravo! Concerts Northwest, among others. She has premiered new works by Michael Kissinger, Ashley Hastings, and J. Berend Gildea. Phoebe holds a Bachelor of Music from Chapman University, and is a current Master of Arts student at The Voice Study Center (University of Essex).
